Sketchtravel : 1 sketchbook - 50 artists - 0 border

An international challenge bringing together more than 50 artists, famous or not and carefully picked up, to share ideas, concepts, moods and styles from all over the globe in One Common Sketchbook.

The distinctiveness of this sketchbook is that artist will not have to send a sketch, a drawing or a painting to a publisher : instead, a real sketchbook will travel from one artist to another during one year.

So, step by step, invited Artists can be inspired by what previous artists have done before in the Sketchbook.

It's not only about skills and abilities it's also about creativity, ideas and friendship. The original sketchbook will be exhibited at the Arludik Gallery, Paris. It will finally be sold at auction for a Charity Association, selected by the artists.

Follow the sketches, the list of artits and all the project here.

Surfin’ on the beach for free

Castelldefels
Originally uploaded by crickee.
Here comes the summer...

Lucky beach-goers in Spain's Catalonia region can now check their email directly from their towels... and for free! The town of Castelldefels just outside Barcelona began offering free wireless Internet on its beaches on Monday.

The connection, enabled by five Wi-Fi antennas installed at various points along the beach, will cover five kilometres of shoreline by the end of this week, and eventually extend another kilometre out into the Mediterranean. The free signal can be picked up by laptops, PDAs or any other wireless Internet receiver. Right, that means you can also send and receive your Crickee messages for totally free, with no charge for the data.

Beware of getting sandy ;-)

A meaningful travel for International Womens’ Day

i-to-i

Commemorate International Women’s Day, March 8, by flying across the globe to empower and enrich the lives of women in Africa.
i-to-i, a meaningful travel provider, arranges trips for volunteers to work with underprivileged women in Moshi, Tanzania. By teaching English, sharing simple business skills, and providing education on HIV and AIDS awareness, volunteers provide the tools to build better lives for women and their families.
Community work with women in Moshi, Tanzania trips range from one to 12 weeks in length and start dates are available twice a month.
“International Women’s Day has been observed since the early 1900s,” said Alexia Nestora, i-to-i North America. “Almost a century later, while there are more women in boardrooms of westernized countries, women in other countries still live and work in squalor and are in need of our help.”

Are there more stars or are there more grains of sand? Will there be more Crickee than human being?

Well, if every star came with a planet like earth that had billions of sand grains, there would have to be more sand grains than stars!
The number of stars in our galaxy is around 100 billion. The number of sand grains on earth is probably 100 times this value. However, our galaxy is only one of about 100 billion in the visible universe, and so the total number of stars we know about is around .... there's a lot of both!

Same for Crickee!

With Crickee, every thing you think about, is unlimited.

Did you know that there are 9 million bicycles in Beijing and soon same number of Crickeessssssssss! listen to Katie Melua's song "Nine Million Bicycles"... you'll love her.

This sandy blog has been posted from Plage du Dramont.

Crickee Pear "…’s A Bitch"

One day, Crickee told me that he wanted to swin in the Great Barrier Reef sea ashore Australia.

I told him, the only way to do that was to get installed for free into John Robinson's mobile phone for free (because John does not spend money!), because John leaves in Sydney and because John loves snorkling ashore the Whitsunday Islands - Great Barrier Reef - Queensland Australia ...

John can afford that because Crickee is free when sending SMSs to his tribe and to his mates (in France or Africa).

John thinks he is the King with Crickee but Steve Dalo thinks that he is King as well!

Crickee surfs on London’s Thames River

It's good to see that every day Crickee has more and more places to be happy and express itself: in other words, to make you exchange text messages, faster, cheaper, cooler...

If you live in London or during your next tourist trip there, log on to the Wifi networks being set up on the Thames River, and cruise peacefully... while looking at BigBen or entering the tube.

London joins the long list of more and more wifi covered, united (and some of them free) Wifi networks. So enjoy the ride.
