Crickees' Crush of the Week: iPhoneNews, the blog of twists

Iphonenews This week Crickee carries a torch for Chris and his blog iPhoneNews.com which purpose is to bring together all available information on the iPhone.

Not official, so it keeps a free tone that could not afford an official blog. Tests, photos, videos, rumors, agreements, trial ... All the news about the iPhone, positive or negative, are presented and analyzed in this blog.

For all the iPhone's fans, those who already have it, will soon have it, or just dream about it.

Tribe of Crickeers

Should we call Crickee users Crickeers ?

Anyway our users are talented!

This week Crickee saw strange faces with something very familiar!

Pimp your Crickee ;-) Here are the 3 that caught our attention.

Something to thing about : version for geeks

On monday, I told you about geeks. Today, I discovered that not only Crickee loves geeks ;-)

Google

You don't have to prove you're a geek to go there and try it.

Do you think Crickee should have its own geek version, ;-)

Cellufun, no more dull moment!

There's few things better than a good laugh. And at Crickee we love both laughing and playing. Cellufun is a Crickee's cousin: an ad sponsored mobile gaming portal providing free entertainment content and casual, connected and multiplayer games for existing and next-generation web-enabled mobile phones.

Cellufun

Their vision is to bring state of the art multiplayer gaming to the world's most prevalent and rapidly growing personal computing platform – your cell phone.

Games of chance and skill let you compete for both online and off line prizes.

So give it a try, and if you like it why don't you spread the word by sending a ping to your tribe? Enjoy!

News at a Glance: Crickee explores the web

Techmeme What's up on the web? This week Crickee has explored Techmeme, a software agent to surface blogs you might have never heard of or a news site you don't have time to scan. Coverage is driven in real time by a mix of industry insiders, passionate independents, and established journalists. Here is a Crickee selection of five news of the week.

  • Predictions for 2008
At the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, FL earlier this month, Gartner analysts identified the top 10 strategic technologies for 2008.
    via Socialtext
  • Free 411: Putting Google and Microsoft to the Test
Google and Microsoft both offer free business directory assistance services. Which one is better?
    via PC World
  • The season of social network platforms
    via ZDNet
  • The New Era of Semantic Apps
I'm here at the Semantic Edge panel at the Summit, moderated by Tim O'Reilly and featuring W. Daniel Hillis (Co-Chairman and CTO, Applied Minds), Barney Pell (Founder and CEO of Powerset), Nova Spivack (Twine - see our review here). The panel starts with demos from each of the three speakers.

  • The Web is the Platform
The platform wars are over. Long live the Web. That was the basic message delivered by Jeff Huber, Google's vice president of engineering, in a ten-minute presentation at Web 2.0 a few minutes ago.

Tribe of geeks

Few months ago, Crickee discovered the unofficial bloggers' Anthem (remember), well, geeks also have their own.

Everyone singing "W3'r3 g33ks for 3v3r, w3'r3 g33ks tog3th3r" ;-)

Watzat a geek ? Try to find out here, and even better try to follow the excellent IT Crowd.

Geek or not, stay tuned and create your own mobile tribe with Crickee (how to?).

Something to think about: Do you ShoZu?

At Crickee we really have a crush on ShoZu.

In a One-click way, you send your videos and photos from your phone to the Web!
As for Crickee Mobile Inside, you just need to adopt the ShoZu app in your phone and here you are, ready to share and blog on the move. And of course, as Crickee, ShoZu is free !

Shozu_2

At this time, if you want your photo to be displayed on Crickee, the feature is not yet available. But you can send them to your Flickr account through ShoZu, and then, send the link to your tribe via a Crickee Ping.
That's a bit complicated but it works, even on the go.
Well... wouldn't be great if you could directly send them to Crickee? Would you use it ?

What about give ShoZu a try this weekend and then let us know ?
