A friend of mine told me: «
Crickee sounds interesting, but check out my phone, do you think it’ll be ok for Crickee?»
For some reason, lots of guys tend to think you need a $500 device to use that kind of services.
Well, the answer is: YES, of course, and here’s how to use Crickee on a
Sony Ericsson K300:
There are 2 ways :
1 - in our Wapsite : find your browser on your K300 and enter the address
adopt.crickee.com in it. Then follow the
instructions.
You'll find your browser here:
Menu -> Internet Services -> More -> Enter address
You’ll soon receive a SMS with a link to download Crickee on your phone.
2 - even easier: in our website:
Fill in the online form at
www.crickee.com
After completing the form you'll receive a SMS on your phone with a Crickee password. You can enter this password in the sign-in page on the web (so stay in front of your computer!!)
You’re in Crickee ! You can now add contacts and send as many messages as you feel. You can also go to
Menu -> Download Crickee Mobile to receive a SMS on your phone containing a link to get Crickee on your mobile.
If you do so, open the SMS and click on the link. You’ll then see the following screens:
Connecting ...
loading ... and finally a screen called
Crickee where you can pick
Download or
View information. Pick
Download.
You’re now
Downloading Crickee (you can see the download in progress bar)
After the download you're asked:
Save in (pick
Games or
Applications). I picked
Games.
The phone reminds you this:
Saved in folder: Games and then asks
start now? Say
Yes.
You should see this standard warning message:
Allow application to send to the internet? Answer
Yes.
After a little while you should see the message
Connection OK! Next…(if you don't read the end of this page). Click on
Next and you can now see your tribe, your Crickee contacts if you will. The ones you entered on the web are already here, pretty convenient. One thing though, you can’t be connected on the web and on your mobile at the same time.
Feel free to send messages to your buddies, from your K300 or from
www.crickee.com. You can also read your messages on the web or in Crickee Mobile. In both cases, when you're not connected, you'll know you have a message thanks to a crickee alert on your phone (a call from Crickee).
Your Crickee buddies will be able to read your messages on their mobiles or on the web too, pretty cool huh ?
Ok, a little troubleshooting wouldn't hurt, right? So if you can't find Crickee in your phone, don’t worry, it’ll be here:
Menu -> File manager -> Games (or
Applications)
Menu -> Entertainent -> Games
Have trouble connecting on your mobile?
First check that you have a profile entered here for your operator (if you don’t be sure to ask your operator how to get one):
Menu -> Connectivity -> Data Comm. -> Data accounts
Then pick it in the lists that appear here:
Menu -> Connectivity -> Internet Settings -> Internet Profiles
Menu -> Connectivity -> Settings for Java -> Internet Profiles
We hope you’ll have fun using
Crickee on the web and on your mobile also !
