After doing our best to -successfully- run Crickee on many high-end phones, here's a bit of hope for those of you who carry things like a
Samsung X640.
You think it won't make it ? Check this out, it's just fine for
Crickee and has all it takes to let you take advantage of it. Say goodbye to your good old (expensive?) SMSs.
Ok, enough talking. Let's see you to make it
adopt a Crickee.
First go to
our website and fill in the application form, or open your Wap browser on the phone and type in it the address
http://adopt.crickee.com. You'll find the browser here:
Menu -> Fun box -> WWW Services -> Go to URL. You then need to follow the
instructions.
In both cases (web or Wap) you'll receive a SMS to end the registration process. Open the SMS and click on the link inside:
Options -> Cut address, select the link then
Options -> Go to URL.
After opening the link you'll see a
Confirm screen (displaying the size, version and name of Crickee). Click on
Install.
You're on to the
downloading screen (with a progress bar showing the percentage of Crickee downloaded ) and finally
installing.
The phone then displays the following message:
Download completed. Execute now ? Obviously you'd better pick
Yes.
Crickee’s on ! You can now enjoy the fun of
Crickee with your friends.
Remember, the first time you open Crickee it executes on its own, but next time you want to open it you'll find it here:
Menu -> Fun box -> JAVA world -> Downloads
Have a connection issue or an error message? First check here that your operator is listed here:
Menu -> Fun box -> WWW Services -> Current proxy. You should see the name of your operator as the current connection. If you don’t pick your operator or add its profile here:
Menu -> Fun box -> WWW Services -> proxy settings
One last tip concerning the configuration issue. Even if your X640 has a data connection, you might need to type the GPRS settings in this menu (this is stupid but we've seen this on several Samsung devices):
Menu -> Fun box -> JAVA world -> Internet Settings
Contact your operator to get the settings. For instance with the French operator
