What’s changed in Crickee 1.1 ?

Did you know that now you get a Crickee call if you receive a Crickee message and are offline? Quite simply your phone rings from a recognisable number and if you pick up you hear the cutest little crickee noise (play it here by clicking on the button at the top right of our home page).

This means that you don't have to wait until someone is online to chat with them. You send a message and your friend is alerted and you can start chatting straight away. How cool is that?

Of course if you're in class you can always deactivate the alert so your phone won't ring or just use silent mode and Crickee will stil call you and you'll recognise the number of the missed caller and know to log on as soon as you are out of class.

What a great invention! Thanks Crickee.

Jeje anxious about Crickee

Jeje is one of Crickee's early adopters. Here he is, after a few glasses of rosé in a great restaurant in Port-Grimaud.
He installed Crickee in his Treo while listening to Bireli Lagrene (his mate).
The guy was happy! Everything was fine that day.
As one of many dumb and dummers, he bent over and his Treo fell in the sea.
Something that Crickee can't do is swim! Jeje, your Treo is deep in the sea with Crickee.
Get a new phone and download Crickee now from www.crickee.com
We love ya buddy!

2,64 € for an equivalent of 3000 Crickee SMSs!

I use Crickee intensively. I have been asked to be a beta tester by the Crickee management. I said yeah!!!

From September 3rd, (today september 27th) My Crickee needed 2MB of mobile internet connexion to send the equivalent of 2000 Crickee SMSs (Brits and Yankees call'em Text Messages!!).

My mobile operator charged me 9,9€ for 15 MB (or 0,66€/MB). I think that by October 3rd, I will have burned 4MB or nearly 3000 Crickee SMSs (only with Crickee).

Make your own calculation, because I it's AirOne's bedtime now: 0,66€ x 4 = 2,64 € data cost....

  • I love this
  • I love this
  • I love this

(my invoices are at home. I will be happy to share them with anyone)

In the USA, when you send 1 standard SMS to someone, it costs $0,10 cts to the sender and $0,10 cts to the recipient. 0,20cts x 3000 = 600 $/480 € (against nearly 3 € using Crickee)

Crickee Lighthouse

Why did August Eiffel build this tower?
To be the Paris Lighthouse? No way! He had a vision.

August ....just wanted to demonstrate to the world that the only limit is human imagination. Technology remains man's slave.

Then, if he could build a vertical object, the highest in his time, he was surely able to construct horizontal connectors called "bridges". And he did all over the world...

Imagination! Bridge! Connector! Worldwide! sounds like Crickee buzzwords.

Get this right: With Crickee, there 2 billion mobiles are connected free of charge (iyou still pay your internet connexion, you, me joe!, every single chap around the compound, even for MSN or Skype addicts) through the second generation SMS. Vision?

NOPE! Crickee is Imagination, Crickee is your DJ!!
Create your own partition. Stay real!
Crickee is your freedom, Crickee is a Lighthouse in this dark SMS costly field.
I use Crickee. Why? Because it's Imagination. Because it's second generation.
A bit like a SMS 2.0 (web 2.0....huhuhu!)

O Crickee! my Crickee! our fearful trip is done
The SMS has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won
The mobile is near, the buzz I hear, and Crickee maniacs all exulting
While follow eyes the steady antennas, the mobile grim and daring.
But O SMS! SMS! SMS!
the sweating drops of green
Where in the phone my Crickee rests
Multitudinous and Hollywoodin'

O Crickee! my Crickee! rise up and hear the buzz
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the buzz trills
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding
For you they call, the swaying mass, their happy faces turning.

Here Crickee! dear friend!
This SMS has bedecked you
It is some dream that on the mobile network
You’ve been ransomed and restored

My Crickee is mute? reconnect, for network is too distant
My Crickee does not install in my mobile? No fear the solution is near
The SMS is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done
From fearful trip, the victor SMS, comes in with object won

Exult, O shores, and ring, O buzz!
But I, with smiling face
Walk the deck my Crickee stays
Free to roam in my mobile.

With apologies to Walt Whitman
